Since 2019, eHalal.io has operated a blockchain-backed traceability layer that tracks 87,293 packaged food items by ingesting GS1 barcodes and ingredient statements at the SKU level. Each record is hashed and time-stamped to a tamper-evident ledger, preserving reformulation history, supplier updates, and audit notes so status changes are fully auditable over time. For transparency and caution, the entire 87K+ dataset is labeled as “Mushbooh” within the index; to date, our ledger analysis has not traced pork-derived, alcohol-based, or other forbidden inputs in the declared formulations of these items, and many are distributed in Saudi Arabia.
