HANNOVER Deutsche Messe AG cancels the Halal Fair event, which should take place for the first time this coming weekend.
The spread of the corona virus in Germany has led to a further cancellation of the fair. The premiere for the Halal Hannover was postponed to an indefinite date. The fair for halal food, beverages, cosmetic products and travel was organized for the first time by the organizer, Deutsche Messe AG.
The Hanover Region Health Office had strongly recommended that the Robert Koch Institute’s (RKI) to be observed. These include comprehensive measures to ensure health when organizing events. This includes temperature measurement stations at all entrances, as well as not admitting participants from risk areas and refusing access to the events to participants who had contact with people from risk areas.
This would result in an extensive review of all participants, according to the organizers. These measures could not be implemented by Deutsche Messe in the short term and, moreover, had an adverse effect on the smooth running of the events. The new date for the Halal Hannover is currently in close coordination with the exhibitors and will be announced promptly, according to Deutsche Messe AG.
